I'm not sure this season is exactly what the composer had in mind, but hopefully we can all stick together and make it through this perfect storm of ineptitude that's hit.

There's a lot of noise in the machine right now calling for various changes. Some want Addazio fired. Others just want him to go back to being strictly an offensive line coach. And still others want Brantley benched in favor of Trey Burton. Three straight losses, two at home, will cause that sort of loud displeasure when the fanbase is used to the success that occurred over the past 5 seasons. It's The Beginning Of October And The Dolphins Are Right Back Where They Started

Over the past few seasons it's been exhausting being a Dolphins fan. Most recently, it was the whole Nick Satan debacle, and an offseason that saw some popular players depart and some curious draft decisions.

And now it's the beginning of October, and the Dolphins(and their fans) are in the same spot they were a number of months ago. Looking for a quarterback to lead the team.

Thanks to Trent Green's decision to block a defender in the knee with his head on Ted Ginn's reverse(You remember him right? Miami's #1 pick.), Cleo Lemon is the starter for the forseeable future. He may even be the starter for the rest of the season because this is Green's second bad concussion in as many seasons. If he can't go, then it will be up to Lemon and second round pick John Beck to try and end Miami's eight game losing streak.

Does passing on Brady Quinn after he fell into Miami's lap seem like such a great decision now, Coach Cameron? I know that Ginn's 51 yards of total receiving have made a huge impact, but seriously, passing on Quinn? [sarcasm]It's still a great idea six months later![/sarcasm]

It's Always A Good Idea To Keep Your $20 Million Investment On The Sideline

As if the Miami Dolphins didn't already have enough problems this season. Some thought that Miami's signing of Joey Porter wasn't a shrewd move because of his injuries last season and his age. Others thought the acquisition of Trent Green wasn't smart because of his concussion last season. Many thought the drafting of Ted Ginn was a horrible idea because he was still slightly injured and Miami needed a quarterback(cough-Brady Quinn-cough).

If they thought those decisions were stupid, then they must really like the decision that Cam Cameron and his staff made on the Redskins' overtime winning drive in which they kept Porter on the sideline. Yes, instead of having one of their best players on the team out on the field, they kept him off of the field because they didn't feel he was familiar enough with the nickel and dime packages.

Coach Cam Cameron and defensive coordinator Dom Capers chose to limit Porter's participation because of all the time missed while recovering from Aug. 7 arthroscopic knee surgery, but also because Porter isn't familiar enough with the nickel and dime packages.

"He knows the base package extremely well," Cameron said. "We want to get to the point where he knows all three packages the way that he wants."

Well, that's great Cam except that with Porter out the Redskins rushed seven times for 45 yards to set up the game winning field goal. In fact, Clinton Portis gained about 1/3 of his yardage on that OT drive alone.

Even if he's not totally familiar with the nickel and dime he had to be a better option than "backup defensive backs Michael Lehan, Travares Tillman and Cameron Worrell", who were subbed in with the different packages. Though, it's just another great decision that Cam Cameron has made in his early days as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
